Building Better Webs

Olu Niyi-Awosusi Web developer and writer

"There is one web" is the first of W3C's Ethical Web Principles. The one web we have all come to know and love/tolerate/hate is home to so many different webs; small webs, indie webs and corporate webs; purposely fleeting webs, accidentally lost webs and attempts at permacomputing; poetic webs, scientific webs and the purposely misleading webs, to name a few. In a world where over half of all internet traffic goes to Big Tech sites, the weird and wonderful web seems to be shrinking. This talk examines some of the ways we can take back our webs.
